About Me

I am Mike Jankowski and I have been living in Yuma for 11 years now.  I am originally from Wisconsin.  I grew up with a family of 6, I have 3 brothers (Chris - 38, Rob - 36, and Tim - 33) and my parents David and Linda Jankowski are still going strong after 38 years.  I am super close to my older brother Rob who is the Athletic Director at San Luis High School.  While living in Wisconsin I got a degree from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Organizational Communication with a Human Resource minor.  After college I worked construction for 6 months and then moved to Yuma, AZ with my brother Rob.  When I got down here I started teaching right away and earned a Master's Degree in Secondary Education.  I have been teaching for 10 years now and love what I do.  I started off at Yuma High School and taught there for 4 years then moved to Cibola High School where I have been teaching for the last 6 years.  I have 3 passions in this world;  Hunting, Wrestling, and Teaching not necessarily in that order.  I am blessed to be able to take a trip back to Wisconsin each year to do a bow hunt with my father.  I coach the wrestling team at Cibola and we have done very well as the kids work their tails off which has led to the success including 2 State Titles, and we have finished 4th, 2nd, 5th, 1st, 1st, and 4th at the State Tournament.  I was also blessed with a daughter, Noelani, who is 5 already and has started school at Gowan Science Academy.  MY daughter means the world to me and I would do absolutely anything for her.  I also have 3 dogs that mean a lot to me a lab (Achilles), a pug (Milo), and a chihuahua (Pierre).
